| Description of the problem | My 2007 mercedes r350 has been diagnosed with engine balance shaft problem and the dealer has recommended to replace balance shaft (engine balance shaft). The mileage on my car is 54109 miles and is less than 5 yrs old. The dealer is quoting $5300 + taxes for this issue. After searching on the internet, came across many many others who have/had the same issue with various mercedes models specifically with engines m272 and m273. Also a class action lawsuit has been filed on 10/5/2010 in the state of new jersey whose link is http://www. Courthousenews. Com/2010/10/07/mercedes. Pdf . Mercedes has also release instructions for this specific problem to the dealer mechanics of how to repair this as it has been happening with m272 and m273 engines. |
